Debuting in 1996 as Shenzhen International Furniture Exhibition, Shenzhen Creative Week has since organized 38 trade events and grown over tenfold in size. Its evolution over the years has seen multiple expansions to include more countries and design sectors, solidifying its reputation as Greater Bay Area’s most comprehensive design fair and the ideal strategic platform for industry professionals.

This year’s SZCW runs from May 25-28, 2023, and takes up a total of 200,000 sqm area of the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center. Nine main exhibitions are packed in its abundant program under the theme “New Design in Shenzhen”, covering architecture, interior design, furniture, materials, smart home technology, lighting, and lifestyle, with the addition of outdoor activities.


Gathering leading high-end brands and prominent designers from across China and the world in the lineup, SZCW 2023 aims to present to most dynamic show that combines the latest technology with centuries old traditions, explores the ever blurred lines between art, design, and lifestyle, and connects global brands with the Chinese design industry.



The bridges and boundaries between art and design make for an endless conversation, although more often than not, the two exist within each other. Each year, SZCW invites master designers and notable artists from across China and the world to exhibit and participate in various projects.
Italian master designer Aldo Cibic, a founding member of Memphis Milano and founder of Cibicworkshop, is set to join the Design Dome Select lineup for the first public showing of “Explorimentation”: a bold and joyful experimentation and exploration of reclaimed wood, precious metals, and glass.

Creacioun (炼物志) invites visitors to dive into “The Impermanence of Water”, a unique exhibition that combines art, design, academia, materials, craftsmanship, environmental protection, and traditional Chinese culture. It brings together furnishings industry leaders, materials companies, top artists and designers, institutions, and researchers in a collaborative project to create new works centered around “water”, the results of which will be displayed in three areas—the shape of water (the diversity of the national culture), the volume of water (carbon neutrality and environmental protection), and the force of water (innovative materials applications).

Pouring an ode to China's thousands of years of tea culture, "Oriental·Beauty Habitat" will display a contemporary Chinese home with a tea space as its starting point. In the same vein, the "Elegant Oriental" exhibition will bring together domestic brands that focus on oriental culture and tea culture products, from home furnishings to art pieces.

HOMEARTISAN is a special exhibition composed of collectors' artworks and home products that combine contemporary art and design, including furniture, painting, lighting, and decorative pieces. Whether in the art and design community or the commercial realm of highend collections, HOMEARTISAN plays a leading role in practice and education.

"Growth (生长)" is a ceramic art exhibition cocurated by ceramic artist Li Song and founder of BananaJam ceramic art gallery, Zhou Yuan. Coming from an interior design background, Li Song's journey as a ceramic artist began during the pandemic. Her body of work explores the process of visualizing the energy of natural abstract forms, creating the embodiments of energy entities that exist but can't be seen.

Home decor brand SUNDAY HOME collaborates with contemporary artists to offer playful and fun collectible home products. Catering to contemporary consumers' diverse lifestyles and needs, SUNDAY HOME breaks the boundaries between objects and products, exploring various ways to present artistic and on-trend designs.

Continuous innovation of digital technology has taken us to large scale integration in the home appliance, furniture, and home furnishings industry. Smart home has evolved from the development of individual products to integrated connections between devices, achieving overall smartification and enabling a fully automated space.

SMART Home Expo presents customized living space solutions combining the advantages of their products with the AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) technology, aiming to create a futuristic environment encompassing appliances, furniture, bathroom, bedroom, healthcare, lighting, and security in a comprehensive smart home system. A lineup of world class technology companies will be coming to Shenzhen for the expo, including AppleMorganHuaweiMideaHaier, and Skyworth.



"The Realm of Intelligence" by Shenzhen Creative Week, Warfi Media Group, and Chen Feijie Hong Kong Design Studio is a brand new IP dedicated to integrating "Smart Product" and "Smart Scene". The goal is to create a living space that combines various fields, categories, and interactive exhibits to offer consumers a one stop smart experience across multiple scenes. It intends to help manufacturers, developers, and consumers gain a comprehensive understanding of the smart living concept across various scenes, promoting a breakthrough in the home industry.



Celebrating Shenzhen as a city of technology, SZCW collaborates with the Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau and the Bao’an District Construction and Public Works Bureau to organize the “2023 Shenzhen Public Construction High Quality Development Achievement Area (Bao'an Special Exhibition)”. Themed "Smart City, Heart of the City, Beauty of Art", it will showcase completed and ongoing public construction projects in Bao’an District, focusing on culture, healthcare, education, and other areas closely related to people’s livelihood. The exhibition will also feature the research achievements of the Public Works Bureau in BIM (Building Information Modeling) and CIM (Civil Information Modeling), presenting Shenzhen’s high-quality development results of public construction and urban development.


Shenzhen Creative Week continuously serves as the springboard for new brand and product launches. This year, over 300 high-end home furnishings and design brands will gather to present the latest trends and the best in home furnishings and decor, covering the living and dining area, bedroom, and outdoor sectors.

Curated event "Design Dome Select" by Design Dome will feature internationally renowned design brands, original Chinese design, exhibits by artists and designers, and the latest innovations in furniture and home decor.



Italian solid wood furniture brand Riva1920 and upholstered furniture brand Chateau d'Ax will be participating with "Design Dome Select" in Hall 13. Among other brands in the lineup are renowned German upholstered furniture brand KOINOR , USA materials manufacturer Sunbrella , Danish contemporary marble furniture brand NORDST , and three outdoor furniture brands Vineko, Livintwist, and NARDI. Also part of "Design Dome Select", German upholstered furniture Hukla will have its debut in China, represented by its Chinese distributor EUHOME.



The Customized exhibition gathers companies leading and transforming China’s complete home solutions sector to display new products and custom solutions, as well as introduce new business models to distributors. This year’s exhibition will feature NEODIKO, DICKSON, RIGHTHOME, CHEERS, KUKA, IF ROOM, BESON, EUHOME, COOMO, ZUOYOU, CBD, ESTELLER, LANDBOND, DONGJIA, HOYAN, MOOAU, ColorLife, SAMPO KINGDOM, CENTURY TENDA, ZHONGZHIXIN FURNISHINGSLANSEN, VH, ONEDREAM.


Some of China’s best living & dining furniture manufacturers to exhibit are CHEERS, KUKA, ZUOYOU, CBD, LAZBOY, ARIS, FURTON, ESTELLER, OURED, YSMS, VIOLINO, XIDAMEN, CALUFUL, and YESWOOD. Other original design brands, such as Huayi Space, Zoao Casa, Qiankun, Coomo, Nisco Living, One Plus One, Logstyle, D&D, Natuzzi, Paulini-home, Gentle, Qianjin Meet, Jingshang, Qushe, Umuphome, mic, and Nicoletti—among others—will also present their diverse collections and new products in Shenzhen.


Sleeping spaces are undergoing a transition from functionality to smart integration, providing consumers with a more comfortable sleep experience. The mattress and bedding sector will see the highest level of comfort offered by top local and international manufacturers, including Serta, Simmons, Lattoflex, Enlanda, Sleemon, Ealy, Airland, Mlily, HEKA, Long Life Basics, Stylution, Eclipse, Mengshen, SINOMAX, Asnug, and Haus mit Sauerstoff.


Aiming to connect lighting brands and lighting designers, ON LIGHT will present an avant-garde and practical exhibition where audience can wander between art, design, and business, exploring the history, present-day, and future of the art of light. The exhibition features various local and global lighting brands, including ERCO, ALPALUCE, Centrale, Bowery, Marsden, Ritaxin, Duragreen, OSTINU, LANUIT, JUE first, and more.



Workplace is a global showcase of cuttingedge office and public building designs. At this year’s SZCW, Workplace will feature renowned brands such as Herman MillerRoyal AhrendMaratti and Saosen, presenting visionary space designs and solutions.

Design Dome’s Design Object boutique presents “CASA MIA”, a new concept store featuring local concept stores in Shenzhen. “CASA MIA” showcases the fusion of commerce, events, and artistic living spaces, highlighting international and Chinese original design brands with high value, market sensitivity, and unique qualities. Visitors, consumers, and industry professionals worldwide will be able to communicate and interact through various salon activities in the area.



The “Pop Art Supermarket”, a project curated by 潮100, is precisely what the name suggests: a catalogue of art pieces showcased in a supermarket setting for visitors to pick up and purchase.

On Scent Show: “Journey of Fragrance” is an art installation inspired by the bond between the Little Prince and the rose. It showcases independent brands in three chapters of a self experience story: “Curiosity of the Unknown”, “Seeking Inner Peace”, and “Dialogue with the Self”. Through these chapters, visitors will be able to choose fragrance products that resonate with their inner essence.

Zizai Workshop, Chahui, BOKING, muusa, MEDO, and Fuyun Pavilion are among the design studios gathered in the《未物东方,看见力量》"Power of the Unknown East" exhibit by He Fulin from Miben Studio. Combining Oriental design with natural and organic elements and integrating innovation and the brands' individual creation, "Power of the Unknown East" hopes that visitors will see the future of Oriental power.

Cutting edge original design brands use their collective voice to climb up the ladder in Design PATI, a platform aimed at gathering global design competitiveness and diversification. Returning for its 6th year, Design PATI will be presenting three major exhibits: creative brands, original products, and experimentation of new materials.




Curated by Liang Daohong from Dunyan Culture, ON LIGHT will once again illuminate the area with its "Light Perspective" show, which penetrates the potential energy of light and shadow into art, emotions, and reality with five classical aesthetic styles in "Twenty Four Poems".

Design Inspiration teams up with Studio HBA, a subsidiary of leading hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), to launch "Material Creative Interpretation - Alienation"—a space art and design exhibition that brings together top international commercial design and creative materials research institutions, architectural and interior designers, and leading materials companies.



The future of the design industry relies on today's emerging talent, and SZCW is committed to giving a platform to young global and local design talents looking to kickstart their career or connect with China's design community. International Designer Connection (IDC) and WISE are annual projects from Design Dome, each serving as a gateway into the industry for the new generation of designers from different levels and backgrounds.

IDC is composed of top tier independent design studios and agencies worldwide promoting their businesses and looking to connect with companies in need of design services. This year, IDC will feature thirteen design studios and agencies with Design Dome Select: Nin Studio, Pushe Design, Wellife, Zhi Guang Design, Morpha, Bingqi Lee Design, Need Studio, Kong Dezheng & Xu Jiamin, GOODO Island Design Studio, MINGDU OBJECT, Woodou Design, and De Xian Design.






WISE annual design competition gathers and selects eight exceptional young talents just stepping into the industry to put their best work on display and compete for the top position. This year's edition will see Zhou Luwei, Jiang Xinyi, Chen Zhanbo, Lu Lu, Zhang Cheng, Pablo Valiente, Huang Huizhen, Tang Weikun, Lifeng, Rannee, Zhang Ruilin, and Yang Xueying showcase their interpretation of the theme "Law of Elasticity".





Various design forums will be held throughout the course of the fair. On Thursday, May 25, the “China Whole-Home Integration Conference” by Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association and Dai Bei TALK will be exploring and discussing the new direction of integrated home development with leaders in various fields, inviting guest speakers from ZBOM, MULI, Vifa, Boloni, Macio, Miform, QM, Huayi Space, NEODIKO, DICKSON, Markor Furnishings A.R.T., landbond, FOTILE, DONEGPENG, Mingdiao, ljjhome, and iSpace Home.


Taking place in the afternoon of Friday, May 26, social media platform Xiaohongshu (小红书)’s special forum will feature Xiaohongshu officials, creative bloggers, and 100 home furnishings brand leaders. Geared toward home furnishings and decor brands, the event will discuss multiple dimensions of “planting seeds” on the platform, such as the latest trends in home decoration, high quality content, and brand marketing ideas.



Various forums will be held throughout the course of the fair: the Design Energy Field in Hall 9, the Smart Forum and Space Art & Design Forum in Hall 12, the International Public Building Design & Art Forum and the Idea Outside Creative Salon in Hall 13, and the Echoes Forum in Hall 14. Inviting leaders from the creative and business sectors, the forums will tackle various topics relevant to today's design industry with its trends, new developments, and challenges.


Creative materials are an essential aspect of innovation in the home furnishings industry. SZCW 2023 brings together various materials, such as fabrics, leather, stone, panels, hardware, doors and windows, bathroom fixtures, and other architectural, interior, and landscape materials. Diverse and innovative solutions for original furniture and large scale space designs will be featured, allowing designers and industry professionals to find unlimited inspiration or build new connections.





It’s a fantastic time of year to be outside, and even better with all the festivities afoot at this year’s SZCW. After a four year hiatus, SZCW’s outdoor exhibition returns twice the size, reaching 70,000 sqm for the first time. Over 2,000 internationally renowned sports brands will be representing a wide range of categories, including camping and picnic, water sports, fishing, self driving and cycling, winter sports, golf, fitness, and more.

The Greater Bay Area Lure Carnival, the Extreme City Carnival, and Play Sup Paddle Board Carnival are ready to provide you with competitions, entertainment, classes, and a bit of adrenaline rush—whether you fancy fishing, love the excitement of extreme sports, are curious about paddle boarding, or just want to join in on the fun. And for the frisbee enthusiasts, the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament will be the perfect event for you to find your community and learn more about the sport.



SZCW’s outdoor events will also include various sports, fitness, and health forums. Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Key Opinion Consumers (KOCs) from various outdoor sports will be interacting with visitors onsite, sharing their experiences, gameplay tips, equipment and outfit suggestions, route planning, and other interesting topics related to outdoor activities.

Shenzhen Creative Week 2023 is just around the corner, and preparations are in full swing for the Greater Bay Area’s most innovative design event, ensuring that we provide only the highest level of exhibition experience and continue to lead the development of China’s home furnishings industry.
